Features: The large easy-to-read 4-Hour Cooking Time Display shows two modes. If the Slow Cooker is turned on, the display will read "On" and will run for 24 hours before automatically turning off. The second mode is programmed - the display will count down from the programmed time. It can be programmed for up to 24:00 hours. In addition, once the program runs through the programmed time, it will automatically default to Keep Warm for 4:00 hours. The removable dishwasher-safe pot makes an attractive serving dish at the dinner table. While the ceramic pot is not recommended for oven use, it is oven safe up to 300F/140C, and may be used to keep cooked food warm up to an hour. Glass lid helps with viewing while food is cooking. The lid handle is large for easy lifting, plus the material and design help reduce heat transfer from the lid. The exterior base side handles are large, so the 6-qt. slow cooker can be lifted easily, even with oven mitts. The stainless slow cooker base provides stable and easy to clean support for the ceramic pot. The power cord, which includes a 3-prong grounded plug, stores neatly on the bottom of the slow cooker base.

I did want something that was programmable, would cook large but also cater to just two of us. It does state that the minimum you should cook in this slow cooker is 1/2 the pot but, we usually make that much and freeze the rest for future quick meals so it wasn't an issue for us. It is large so it does take up cupboard space. Looks good on the counter, great looking crockpot for serving and to take to potluck gatherings. I also like that it doesn't have plastic covering with button locations on the control panel. I had bought that type of small appliance in a toaster oven and microwave and they wear out. The Black and Decker toaster oven, one button is now only 1/2 a button. I contacted the company for a new replacement cover for the control area and of course they don't supply that even though the toaster oven works perfectly. It just looks bad now on the... I have several Kitchenaid appliances, and all of them work beautifully with the exception of this slow cooker. It looks great and is easy to use, but is not calibrated correctly. Several tried-and-true recipes came out terribly because it is literally boiling food rather than slow cooking it. Very disappointing. |
