| 6 of 7 people found the following review helpful  Casablanca Fan failed and they resisted warranty, This review is from: Casablanca Fan Company C45G45B Stealth DC 54-Inch Ceiling Fan, Brushed Nickel with Dark Walnut Blades (Tools & Home Improvement) We paid a premium amount for a Casablanca Stealth DC - 54"Model: C45G45B thinking it would be worth the money and naturally the promise of a lifetime warranty added a level of comfort and made it easier to pay such a high price for ceiling fan. Plus we liked the distinctive look as it was an attractive nickel finish fan. Well when the unit failed Casablanca danced around the warranty and said we would have to pay to get it fixed. They have a well-rehearsed ready-answer to avoid warranty claims and play defense when you need it. I have written this off as a loss and learned from it. I write this to save people similar frustration and avoid the trap of thinking it is a quality product with a good company backing. We bought cheaper fans for the other rooms in the house at the same time and these much cheaper units work like the day we bought them without any problems whatsoever. It did not appear to have been opened. After installation, we found that after a few turns it did not work. We had the option of returning it to Amazon as the Casablanca tech suggested when he heard that it was making a clicking sound. ("That's not right!") The price was too good to give up that easily. Taking the fan down, we discovered that the receiver had a wire attached to its side by a glob of clear silicon that had let go. When the fan turned, it evidently tugged on and unseated the wire. The clicking sound came from the wire dragging across the motor housing. Casablanca sent a new receiver immediately and all works perfectly now. For my husband, having to put the fan up twice was definitely not a plus, but the solution to the problem was relatively easy.
